Woodford Tasting Dinner
We had an amazing time at our first tasting dinner of the year with Woodford Reserve
f you missed it, check out @TheWhiskeySomm recap and stay tuned for our next dinner! “Last night I had the pleasure of attending The Upper West’s “Farewell To Winter Dinner” featuring Woodford Reserve and hosted by Jamison Royvk
Chef Nick Shipp did an amazing job of creating delicious, unique dishes and pairing them with the different expressions of Woodford Reserve.
The first course was a maple and whiskey cured Tuna “jerky” paired with the standard Bourbon. With the house-made crema, this was an excellent first dish.
The second course was roasted Butternut Squash in a coconut and lime leaf curry paired with the Woodford Kentucky Straight Malt. This dish opened my eyes to the beauty of curry!
For the third course of the evening, guests were served a prosciutto-wrapped pork loin on a bed of Goat Cheese polenta. This was paired with the Woodford rye.
For the fourth (but not final) course, we had braised beef cheek served with fried brussels sprouts. This was paired with the new Woodford Wheat!
The fifth and final course was of course dessert. Chef prepared a chocolate whiskey tart with a house-made cool whip and roasted banana ice cream. This was paired with the 2018 release of Woodford Batch Proof!
Thank you, Chef Nick, Woodford, Jamison, Chad, and Asi for having me! I can’t wait to come back and enjoy more meals at this restaurant. ” To see the original post click here
