Chef Nick Wins General Mills’ West Region ‘Neighborhood to Nation Recipe Contest
Last night we celebrated Chef Nick and his winning entry, for the second year in a row, for the General Mills West Region ‘Neighborhood to Nation Recipe Contest.”
Kelly Walhof from General Mills made the trip to Los Angeles to congratulate Chef Nick and to showcase the Upper West with a unique check presentation and celebratory event.
This year’s winning recipe: Lamb Chili Bolognese with Macaroni and Whipped Goat Cheese. He prepares this original dish as part of our fall and winter menu; however, added fresh vegetables and goat cheese yogurt to lighten the dish for summer.
The regional winners of the contest win $5,000 as well as $1,000 to go to a local charity of their choice; Chef Nick chose St Jude Research Hospital for the second year in a row. Chris Oshe was on hand to accept the award on behalf of St. Jude.
