Join us in welcoming our Spring artist Debbi Singer to the walls of Upper West on Sunday April 30th, between 5-8 pm; come meet the artist, see her latest works and enjoy light snacks,wine and community!

About the Artist

Debbi Singer is a self-taught abstract expressionist painter..

She is a California native who has owned and operated Italian restaurants in Venice since 1992. In 2013 she picked up a paintbrush and says that she found her true calling.

Her love for the food business has not diminished yet painting has given her an outlet to “express the inexpressible”. Most of Debbi’s work is non-representational though she enjoys figurative work as well. Debbi’s pieces are textural, multi-layered, mixed media with acrylic on canvas. She says it is all a living experiment; If you look up close you might see hidden words, people, numbers and unrecognizable objects from earlier layers peeking through. She describes her process as, “peeling back the layers inside herself as she places them on the canvas one layer at a time.

Debbi had her first solo shows here at The Upper West and we are happy to invite her back. We hope you enjoy her work as much as we do.
