You’ve been practically living in movie theaters as you try to catch up on all of the Oscar hopefuls. You started to put together your own ballot—and maybe even decided to put a couple of bucks on it. And now, it’s finally time to sit back and watch the Academy Awards. But this is Los Angeles, where the show starts in the middle of dinner time, the red carpet special has its own red carpet watch parties and Oscar day means avoiding Hollywood at all costs. If the primetime repeat just won’t do, here are the places where you can watch the Oscars live.
Sometimes you want to do something a little more festive than order takeout and watch the Academy Awards over takout. We get it. You can the glitziest night in film—while helping a good cause—at The Upper West in Santa Monica. The restaurant and bar is hosting a watch party to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (25 percent goes right back to the cause), beginning at 4pm. If you arrive before the show begins, you can fill out a ballot and predict the winners for prizes.
